Atlantic
Deck is one of several that hosts a wide variety of indoor
activities and great nightlife venues. The forward most section of
Atlantic Deck is comprised of the Sunset Garden which connects several
forward venues on various decks.
The Sunset Garden can accommodate up to 52 guests and is the enclosed
portion of the ship's exterior promenade. The Sunset Garden
provides a relaxing and quiet spot and its décor is that of a sunset -
gold, umber, and burnt red. There are murals of Old Sol along the
interior walls.
A staircase located completely forward on Atlantic Deck takes guests up
to facilities such as Circle "C" and Camp Carnival. The
Sunset Garden also encircles the Taj Mahal show lounge which spans
several decks.
Proceeding aft on Atlantic Deck from the Sunset Garden, guests will find
the Nobel Library and Internet center. The Nobel Library
encompasses the beauty of ideas and intellect and is aptly named after
the famous prize created by Alfred Nobel. Featured here is Swedish
design incorporating classical and deco art. There are portraits
of Nobel, the King of Sweden, and award ceremonies painted in Windsor
blue and trimmed in light green.
Adjacent to the Nobel Library is Carnival Pride's chapel.
This is obviously a key venue for guests who wish to tie the knot on
board and take part in spiritual services.
The Ivory Piano Bar is the next venue located along the Via
Veneto. The Ivory Piano Bar can accommodate 106 guests and
highlights Japanese ivory carvings known as netsuke, which were invented
in the 17th century. Netsuke are traditionally a small figure of
ivory, wood, metal, or ceramic and were originally used as a button like
fixture on a man's sash from which personal belongings were hung.
Also throughout the piano bar are reproductions of ivory carvings among
bonsai trees and pagoda-like lanterns accented with warm wood tones.
Proceeding aft toward the Renaissance Atrium, guests can do some
shopping at the Shops of Carnival or check out some snazzy attire at
Formalities.
Amidships in the Renaissance Atrium, guests may descend the sweeping
staircases that frame the lobby bar down to Promenade Deck.
Parallel to the Atrium is the ship's photo gallery. Guests can
browse photos that have been taken of them throughout the cruise.
There is also a host of digital photo services and camera products for
sale.
Aft of the photo gallery is the Raphael Lounge which can accommodate up
to 66 guests and typically might feature a jazz trio. Through
several doors along Atlantic Deck, guests may proceed outdoors and
stroll the promenade which wraps around just the stern of the ship. |
