Observation Deck

The Crow's Nest still serves as an expansive observation area for guests by day and an elegant respite by evening on the port side.  The starboard side is the Explorations Café and features a premium espresso bar serving up a variety of coffees and snacks.

Guests may also log on to an Internet workstation to browse online or check e-mail within this area.  The Explorations Café is also home to a well stocked library and provides a number of comfortable chairs in which to enjoy a good book, magazine, or newspaper.  Trivia, crossword puzzles, and other games are also available here.

Another new concept for the Eurodam is the Retreat which is located aft of the Crow's Nest Lounge on Observation Deck.  Within the Retreat are cabanas that are available to rent for the day or entire cruise voyage.  In contrast to those cabanas available on Lido Deck, these offer additional amenities and are located in an exclusive area accessible to those guests who have reserved a cabana.

Observation Deck continues amidships and hosts more new venues for Holland America Line with the introduction of the Eurodam.  The Silk Den, with a capacity for 52 guests, gazes forward over the amidships pool and magrodome.  The Silk Den features refined and elegant Asian décor with a main service bar on the port side and a variety of seating options throughout.

There are stools available at the bar to watch the special drinks offered in the Silk Den being created.  Guests may also opt to convene with friends in one of the intimate curtained sections elevated by a couple of steps.  Seating is also available along the forward-looking windows for excellent sea views.

The Silk Den is also the perfect place to relax while waiting for a dinner reservation in Tamarind, Eurodam's 142 seat Pan-Asian fare restaurant.

Tamarind serves guests for both lunch and dinner.  Guests may choose from a variety of Asian-inspired dishes from the menu or enjoy Rijsttafel, a Dutch adaptation of a traditional Indonesian dinner.  Cooking in Tamarind uses traditional spices and ingredients to provide guests with a truly unique experience.  A wide variety of appetizers is available including a selection of sushi and sashimi.

An impressive new line of cocktails is also available in Tamarind including the Bonsai, Ek-Te-Cooler, Samurai Mojito, and Pink Coral.  Reservations are necessary for Tamarind as this is a very popular venue and last minute seating may not be available at the time requested.
