Introduction

Golden Princess debuted on her inaugural voyage on 16 May, 2001 and under went an extensive renovation from 16 April to 5 May, 2009 in order for her to provide the amenities and services as her newest fleet mates.  Some of the changes that took place from this dry dock include a piazza-style atrium, the adults only Sanctuary, a 'Movies Under the Stars' poolside movie screen, and a new Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant.  She was originally constructed at Fincantieri Navali Italiani at Monfalcone, Italy.

Golden Princess expands upon the successful product offering that Grand Princess introduced to the market in 1998.  Golden Princess offers Personal Choice Dining which allows her guests to dine how, when, and with whom they would like.  Aside from traditional dining times, guests may dine at one of the various venues such as Sabatini's and the Crown Grill.

Other unique eateries that the Golden Princess offers are the International Café and Vines, both located within the Atrium's street café atmosphere Piazza.  Captain's Circle members (repeat Princess guests) will recognize the true signature Princess Cruises venues such as the Wheelhouse Bar, Explorer's Lounge, the Horizon Court, and the pleasant pastel colours and light woods throughout the ship.
