Lido Deck

A hallmark of Holland America Line is, of course, the 470 seat Lido Restaurant that serves as Nieuw Amsterdam's casual and buffet-style dining venue.  Distinct stations throughout the Lido Restaurant allow guests to visit those areas specifically from which they would like to choose their food.

Within the Lido Restaurant and named after the famous 18th century Venetian artist is the 64 seat Canaletto Italian Restaurant.  Canaletto utilizes existing Lido Restaurant seating and comes alive by evening with full menu service and dedicated staff.  Canaletto offers casual tableside service and its menu includes traditional seafood, pasta, and meat and veal dishes.  Canaletto is complimentary but reservations are recommended.

Where the Kiln Cast Glass and bust statue fixtures are located on the Eurodam in the Lido Restaurant are works of art by Swedish artist Lars Widenfalk such as 'Selene', 'Helios' and 'Zyphyrus'.  Modern works of art are also located throughout the Lido Restaurant that depict images and scenes of New York City.

Aft of the Lido Restaurant is the Sea View Pool accompanied by its namesake bar.  On the port side of Lido Deck aft is 'Slice' which is Nieuw Amsterdam's pizzeria.  The operating hours of the 'Slice' pizzeria generally run from late morning until late hours of the evening.

Located forward of the Lido Restaurant amidships is one of Nieuw Amsterdam's pools with a sliding magrodome cover overhead.  Most of Holland America Line's Lido Deck pools feature a bronzed statue by Susanne Holt.  Nieuw Amsterdam (like her sister Eurodam) departs from that tradition by showcasing an eight foot tall waterfall that is made from lightweight stone.  The word 'water' is etched in the stone in one hundred languages from around the World.

Stationed at each entrance from the Lido Restaurant into the amidships pool area are penguin statues crack art design figures designed by TREND of Italy.

As customary on most all Holland America Line ships, the Greenhouse Spa is located forward on Lido Deck.  The Greenhouse Spa facilities aboard Nieuw Amsterdam feature saunas, massage treatment rooms including couple's massage rooms, dry-float suite with massage option, thermal suites with hydrotherapy pool, steam and aromatic room, heated ceramic lounges and in-suite showers, accessible treatment rooms, Tui Na relaxation area, manicure and pedicure area, and a beauty parlor / barber shop.

Nieuw Amsterdam's gymnasium offers forward looking sea views and provides a wide range of cardiovascular equipment and weight training options.
