A
traditional staple on all Holland America Line ships, the Explorers
Lounge hosts a grand oil painting. A quality that sets Dutch
landscape paintings apart from those of other countries is the amount of
space devoted to atmosphere, focusing on ocean air and glowing sun. |
|
|
|
There
are a variety of smaller intimate seating areas in which guests can
watch the sea or fellow guests. Previous Holland America Line
guests feel right at home in Oosterdam's Explorers Lounge given
her consistent design and image. |

|
|
|
Oosterdam
has a dedicated Art Gallery in which pieces are displayed and guests can
preview works prior to auctions. |

The
Art Gallery also displays elegant works for guests and staff.
Ornately lighted are two Indian hardwood architectural façades from the
18th and 19th century of Gujarat.
The Art Gallery also features a stunning copy of an Indian necklace from
the 19th century. The necklace features two amulets and they stand
for fertility and power. |

excitement, emotion, dynamics, and drama. |

aft entrance corridor into the Northern Lights Nightclub features lights
that "follow" guests as they proceed. A whimsical
