The
concept of the Viking Crown Lounge was originally initiated on former
fleet mate - and first Royal Caribbean ship - Song of Norway.
Nordic Prince and Sun Viking followed in her path and
guests could only access the Viking Crown Lounge by means of an outdoor
staircase.
With guest capacity of 250, the Viking Crown Lounge serves as a prime
observation lounge by day and then comes alive by evening as the ship's
nightclub.
As guests enter the Viking Crown Lounge via staircase into the aft
entrance, overhead is a fused glass work of art titled 'Mirage, Viking
Explorer' by Norwegian artist Terje Ostlie. The work of art shows
the shape and size of a boat similar to the small and light boats used
in the Viking age.
Overlooking the two main pools from the Viking Crown Lounge is a work of
art also by Norwegian artist Terje Ostlie titled 'Mile Stone'.
This piece is cast glass and consists of thick 'La Dalle" glass
cast in concrete. The shape is influenced by mile stones which, in
Norway, these are rough stones set up as land in memory of an important
event or person. |
