The
Volendam features a 360-degree wrap-around teak promenade
deck. Located completely forward on Lower Promenade Deck is access
to the ship's bow. This is a spectacular feature for scenic
cruising days whether it be in Glacier Bay National Park or Fjordland
National Park in New Zealand. |

By
far the most eye-catching work of art in the Atrium is the Sculpture 'Caleido'
by artist Luciano Vistosi of Italy. 'Caleido' was cute and fused
of Murano glass. Vistosi, appropriately, was born on the island of
Murano. He had always been intrigued by the moods and colors of a
simple kaleidoscope. Furthermore, he hoped that 'Caleido', with
its continually changing and shifting of colors, would help guests
relive the fantastic dreams of their childhood.
Vistosi also designed the glass sculptures 'Totem' on Maasdam and
'Jacob's Ladder' on the Veendam. |

Guests
may relax in an aft-facing deck chair to enjoy the sounds of the ship's
wake, read a good book, or just take a nap. |
